If your baby has colic and you’re looking for ways to soothe her you’ve come to the right place.

Colic is more than just crying. It’s you feeling powerless in front of your baby who starts crying with no apparent reason.

It’s you struggling to find a reason while you also look for anything that would alleviate your baby’s discomfort.

And of course, it’s your little one who cries as his/her only means of communication.

Slowly you come to the realization that these episodes seem to repeat every day around the same time.

That is when you should consider your baby may have colic.


Be patient. Patience is very important when raising a baby. If you lose your temper when your baby cries it will make things worse.

Being calm and understanding is the way to go in order to have better control of any situation.

Remember a baby usually senses the mother’s emotions. Yes, I know you wish you had a magic crying decoder. Me too!


My daughter started being colicky around 1 month I would say and it took me a while to conclude that she had colic.

You know when you become a first-time mom and everybody tries to give you a piece of advice based on their own experience?! That happened to me.

During my pregnancy, I was bombarded with all kinds of suggestions, which of course were well-intentioned.

But when the worst came, it was just the baby and I and obviously, I forgot about what everybody else had advised me.


I became worried when my little one started having this habit of excessively crying a couple of days in a row between 7 and 9 pm.

I would also see her body tensed as she was constantly moving her arms and legs. her pediatrician confirmed that it was colic, but did not recommend anything in particular.

So I started reading online about any treatment or remedy. There was not much that could be done.

Yet, I did try some things and in the end, I kind of figured it out and managed to ease my baby’s symptoms.


1. Happi Tummi

One of the first things that I came across in my online “remedy research” was this Happi Tummi waistband. The idea of wrapping my baby’s belly with natural aromatherapy herbs sounded very attractive and promising.

The belt was supposed to be warmed up in the microwave and secured around the baby’s belly.

I did all of that and while she was wearing it I was also holding her in my arms making sure she somehow touches my skin (they say skin-to-skin contact does wonder in terms of soothing your little one).

This seemed to calm her down a little bit.

2. Warm Baths and Massages

Another alternative that I used was to put her in her bathtub with warm water just around that time when I knew she would start being fussy and colicky.

I would gently massage her tummy in the warm water and gave her the pacifier. I continued massaging her on the belly after her bath. I put her either on my lap or on a pillow.

This method also seemed to ease her discomfort.

3. Gas Relief

During the day as a desperate intent to prevent her upcoming symptoms, I was using Windi the Gaspasser.

This system did exactly what it promised. Nevertheless, the pediatrician advised me not to overdo it, so I didn’t.

4. The Best Solution To Her Colics: EUREKA!

The ONE thing that made the biggest difference and actually solved my baby’s colic was Gerber Good Start Soothe.

I initially had started her on Similac put I guess that was too thick/consistent for her stomach. After several tries, Gerber seemed to be compatible.

Within a couple of days, I noticed the benefits and how her fussiness and crying gradually stopped.

I should have made that move from the very beginning if I knew.

Remember to always monitor your child. In case you notice a pattern behavior like excessive crying at the same time several days in a row then your baby may have colic.

You can try methods to bring relief to your baby (aromatherapy waistband, tummy massage, skin-to-skin contact, warm bath, change formula), but always address your concerns to the doctor first.
